Golden and Moving-January 5, 2009

Dear family and friends,

This week has been another great week with lots of miracles and blessings. People are back in town now that the holidays are over so we are starting to pick up lots of new people to teach it is great.

Friday we met with Steve and Lynn again and they are doing well. They came to church again on Sunday too. And Steve says he loves the fruits he is seeing in his life since we have been teaching him. His testimony of the church and the gospel of Jesus Christ are growing and I love seeing the changes in him every time we go over. Lynn is doing well too. She is very open to learning and coming to church.

Two weeks ago we had a blitz in our area. That is were all the missionaries in our district go to one area and help going tracking and finding. So two Saturdays we had one in our area. We sent some of the Elders down to the big homes to going tracking there and they ran into a member family. The family told the Elders to go talk to their next-door neighbor for they said the neighbors would be nice to them. So the Elders went over there and they ended up talking to the lady there for about an hour. They gave her a Book of Mormon and she said she was searching for what church to go to and was very confused. Her name is Kim, and her family and her just moved to Texas from California in the summer time this year. So this Saturday Sister Borg and I went over there for the first time to teach her, and we took her neighbor with us. We taught the first lesson and about the restoration of the gospel. It went so well and the spirit was very strong. She is close to the spirit and we feel she is pretty 'golden'. In the lesson she even asked, can one become a Mormon and what does one have to do to become Mormon. Kim is an amazing person and she is searching for something more. There are people all around us that God is preparing to hear and receive the gospel of Jesus Christ we just need to do our part in being aware and not being afraid to share it with them. I hope you all will look for missionary opportunities around you.

Saturday night was transfer calls. We received a call from the Assistants to the President to inform us we are going to be getting another sister this transfer! Sister Borg and I are excited about this. I am excited that I get to stay in Allen and with Sister Borg and about getting another companion. It will be interesting to see how a trio works but we are very excited. They are also moving us out of our apartment. We are moving into a member’s home, but we still are not going to be living in our area. We were hoping they would move us into our area this transfer but no luck so far.

I love this gospel. I know Jesus is the Christ. He is our Savior, Brother, and Friend. He is always watching over us. This is His church on the earth today.

Love y'all
Sister Keys
